YOUR CAR’S NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS

It's 2022; time for a reset button and a fresh start. Many of us make our own New Year's Resolutions to set goals, to accomplish a personal achievement. Our resolutions not only bring us joy and motivation, but they provide a base structure of what we want to have included or not in our year. Making resolutions signifies a desire to take a step towards positive changes, to improve our lives and selves.

In the same way we grasp this concept for our lives, we should implement New Year's Resolution into caring for our vehicle's resolutions. This can be many things to improve the quality of care, functioning, and span of life of your car. We have created a list of 5 New Year's Resolutions for your vehicle in 2022!

Create an Emergency Kit:Include essentials that you may need to be prepared for anything on the road. Some key items we recommend to include in this kit are; jumper cables, first aid kit, flashlights, extra batteries, phone charger, road flares, non-perishable food, reflective triangles, and water. Tire Pressure and Rotation: Make the promise to rotate your tires this year, every six months, or between every 6,000-8,000 miles! Also, ensure that your tire is up to the standards. The recommended tire pressure is between 35-50 PSI. It is crucial to make these resolutions to keep yourself safer on the road.

Brake Inspection: If your vehicle shows any signs of damage to the brakes, such as a squeaking noise, grinding metal sound, vibration, or they appear to be less than a ¼ inch thick, then it might be time to service your brakes. Typically, brake pads need replacing every 50,000 miles.

Oil Changes: Frequent oil changes are crucial to your vehicle's performance and proper maintenance. Oil changes are important because they help remove excess dirt build-up in your engine. Removing this will lead to a more efficient running engine. Regular oil changes are typically done every 5,000-7,000 miles.

Monitor Fluid Levels: Checking in on your fluid levels is important to the functioning of your vehicle. Some fluids to consider include; washer fluid, wiper fluid, engine coolant, brake fluid, and transmission fluid. You should also get your car inspected for any potential leaking and ensure to top off these fluids.

A proper functioning vehicle with some TLC is the key to avoiding any potential problems on the road. Preventative maintenance works, and adding all of these New Year's Resolutions for your vehicle will pay off!
